Festival Guide & Tips
Below are a few pointers to ensure you have a good, safe time at the Festivals and a lifetime of happy memories.
1. Get there safetly. Check the location of your festival. Then, plot your journey - if you're driving, sites like greenflag.com and the AA's Route Planner are great to get you from door to tent.
If you're using public transport, make sure you know the best way to get there by checking the festival's web site. Public transport gets busy on festival days - if you need ferry, bus or train tickets, you're best to book in advance.
2. Don't forget your ticket. If you don't take your ticket, you're on your way home. And beware of buying tickets from unauthorised sources.

Don't get lost! Festival sites can huge, so try to make a mental note of where you are camping in relation to a Fire Point or sign, useful when you’re stumbling back in the dark. You can also take a flag to mark your tent, a balloon or teddy bear. It's also best to arrange to meet friends at simple places, not by congested areas 'cause it won't happen.
What to bring to a festival:
- A phone, Useful to keep in touch with your mates. But remember to charge it.
- A torch, unless you fancy tripping over someone else's guy ropes at 4 in the morning.
- Plastic bags,line your rucksack, boots and cover any electrical goods with them plus carry some in your pockets to sit on.
- Sunscreen & hat, sunstroke is almost as bad as pneumonia.
- Bottle of water, If it's a hot sunny day then drink plenty of water.
- Toilet roll & wet wipes, for all your hygeine needs.
- Cash, enough to east, drink be merry but not too much incase you lose it.
- Wellington boots, great for mud and can be a fashion statement too.
- Camera, it doesnt have to be a flash digital SLR, even a disposable will be good for some sunny festival snaps!
- A blanket or chairs, its nice to chill out in one spot and watch a few bands,
- First Aid Kit, useful for small cuts, bruises, headaches and not having to queue up at the first aid tent.
